Wow, it has been a crazy few months for me.
And it's going to get even crazier.
First off, I finished the first draft of my novel along with my last fall semester of school! Whoo! I got As in all my classes so that was really awesome. I've found some great critique partners/beta readers who I've been working with to revise my story. I also hired 2 freelance editors, one to do a full manuscript critique and the other to do a partial. I got one set of critiques back and it prompted me to do something insane.
I'm basically rewriting my entire novel.
Not from scratch, I'm using a lot of material from my previous version, but I'm adding a lot more. Like an assassin character who stalks one of my MCs, determined to kill her even as he's developing feelings for her. Or the perspective of one of the "bad guys" who doesn't think he's a bad guy at all and supports his best friend in everything, even the murder of children. So yeah, there's a lot of work on my plate for this revision, but I'm really excited to do it. So much so that I've cranked out 50 pages in the past 3 days.
I'm insane and exhausted.
For updates on my writing journey (and life in general), I now have an author website at: laurinebruder.wordpress.com/
which is where I'll be posting about stuff. Sad to say, I'm not going to have time for DA, fanficcing, or fanarting, because I'm now focusing fully on getting my book published and finishing school.
Oh yeah, and that whole "get a job and move" coming up in May.
But I always tend to land on my feet, so I'm trying not to worry about it too much. Instead, I'm focusing on my last semester of school, my novel, my internship, and I'll deal with the terrifying prospect of finding a "real" job, enough to pay my student loans and live a decent life, and finding a place to put down some roots as those things come up. I'll still be lurking around DA though, and keeping an eye out for awesome art from my friends and clubs that I'm a part of
